The presence of molds cannot be avoided in homes
and buildings because molds also exist in the materials which are
used in their construction. Materials such as drywall, plywood,
carpets, carpet padding, and furring strips provide food for mold
to grow. This is because all aforementioned materials have cellulose
and moisture. Hence, molds already become a threat prior to the
completion of the structure.
To prevent a mold-infested space, raw material
verification must be performed to ensure that the materials do not
allow mold growth.
